With both conventional practices, it is necessary to use relatively large amounts of material in order to obtain the necessary strength and rigidity, thereby adding to the Weight of the tubs. The cost of the tubs made using reinforcing cloth is relatively high because of the labor involved. Another practice has been to mold the tubs using a suitable pre-mix material. Although'molded plastic tubs have been made prior to this invention, the usual practice has been to mold the tubs using a glass fiber reinforcing material which is laid up on a suitable form and then impregnated with resin. The molded tub construction comprising the invention is further characterized by thin Wall sections, lightness in weight, high tensile strength, and improved rigidity.
